IT Help Desk Technician

Description:

The Tier 1 IT Technician is responsible for handling first level support of IT service requests in a professional and timely manner. This includes all technology such as workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. Main duties include IT support for Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems, basic network support (WAN, LAN, routers, firewalls, security), basic remote access support (VPN, Terminal Services, Citrix), resolving system alerts, supporting disaster recovery solutions, ticket management, ticket dispatching, escalation of complex issues, improving customer perception and satisfaction, system documentation, active customer communication, engaging with a professional work culture, and staying up to date on current industry technologies.

Requirements:

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. \n Ability to adapt quickly, troubleshoot, and make decisions confidently. \n Professionalism and reliability are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.\n Desire for career growth and aptitude to shift between tasks efficiently.\n Excellent technical skills and a strong understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.\nAt least some direct hands-on IT experience is required.\nSome formal education or certifications are preferred but not required.\n Exceptional troubleshooting skills for Windows computers and domain environments.\n Comfortable providing both remote and onsite support. \nKnowledge of support tools and typing skills for quick data entry.
