Senior Salesforce Developer Opportunity with a Major Financial Firm

Right-to-hire contract position – 2-3 days per week onsite in Newark, NJ required. Must be able to work without requiring a visa sponsorhip.

Position Overview:

As a Lead Platform Engineer , you will collaborate closely with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to enhance the Salesforce platform. Your role will include coding, testing, and debugging new and existing applications to implement solutions for complex business challenges and to deploy innovative products, services, and user experiences.

Beyond technical expertise, you will contribute exceptional problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, leveraging agile methodologies, strong business insight, inclusive leadership, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between business analysts, internal systems teams, and external vendors, crafting tailored solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Perform comprehensive programming tasks including design, development, testing, and documentation for complex Salesforce projects.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for all solutions created.
  • Stay current on Salesforce initiatives and relevant technological trends to continuously optimize Salesforce platform efficiency.
  • Provide daily end-user support, resolving issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Appropriately manage and escalate system issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Facilitate system testing, collaborate with business analysts to identify test cases, develop test scripts, and execute testing.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and associated applications.
  • Assist with coordinating production releases within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Develop unit tests, integration tests, and functional automation; troubleshoot issues identified by quality assurance or product support teams.
  • Maintain awareness and practical understanding of emerging technologies, identify opportunities to innovate, provide team input, coach colleagues, and embed learning in daily operations.
  • Analyze complex problems requiring detailed evaluation of various factors and data points.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing custom Salesforce solutions (Apex, Lightning, Batch Apex, Lightning Component frameworks, Salesforce API).
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce CRM platforms.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS and external applications via services such as REST, JSON, Event Streaming, Core Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within team settings.
  • Capability to resolve complex software and application issues effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of Salesforce development best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaborative abilities.
